'08+ stereo installs

I am installing a two double din Kenwood DDX419.

I see no install kits mentioned for anything later than an '06.

Is it even needed, or does an aftermarket double din fit in there so nicely, no bractetry or fill is needed?

Anyone with an '08+ go through this? TIA.

Hrmm I just noticed this, and have been thinking about installing a different radio in our '10. My guess is that it won't need anything for a double din radio, well nothing except for the antenna adaptor.

However... For a '07 HHR (uses the same radio as the GM radio in our Saabs) Crutchfield says to use this with a single din radio... So I'm not 100% sure.

It's a really clean OEM like install. Cost a shit ton getting the right kits from the UK, but worth it.

Sound quality is a bit better, cleaner. Wife is a happy camper. Nice Bday present.

What kit did you buy? Me thinks the same one will work for my 9-5.

I am debating doing something nice like this for my Viggen. I have nice speaker/amp setup and a kenwood deck with bluetooth. I want a double din though....

Per some SC threads, I bought all my stuff from a place called Incartek

Hands free mobile phone accessories - Car Phone Kits

They have EVERYTHING to make a seamless clean install. They also shipped pretty quick to me.

Back in the day I did the Alpine slide out, years later I would have loved to do a double din touchscreen. But 2003, the Alpine was one of the only touchscreens. I had so much money in it that I took it from car to car so it wound up in the Viggen lol.

the problem I hace with a double d deck is if it's a touch screen it's a PITA to change channels. I have Alpine's INA W910 which seems to be a solid deck, it's just since there are no preset buttons except what's on the touchscreen I have to look at the deck to change channel...... if NAV isn't a concern I would get a double din that has actual preset buttons..... Clarion, Alpine & Pioneer all make some & I am sure other companies do as well.
