Don't you have to have additional points to latch the hood down since carbon is so much lighter than steel? I have seen quite a few cases where this was not done and ended in a hood flying up at speed and ripping itself off or smashing into the windshield.

You only have to do hood pins or latches if the factory latches aren't attached to the hood. It all depends on the hood. Yankton's c900 hoods didn't require pins.





It all depends on the quality of the hood... Granted, yankton's was a hybrid hood with the c900 metal frame underneath it, but it still shed a TON of weight. Shane has one and it is extremely light.

Its cheaper to just wrap the hood in Carbon Fibre vinyl, if you want the CF look.
