Replacing 3.5 for 6x9 rear speakers?

Hi,
Can anybody tell me if I can just add 6x9 speakers to my 09 9-3SS rear?
If so, do i buy and connect any new 6x9's to old 3.5 speaker wiring? or do I need to get an amp hooked up?
Will the sound quality for the 6x9 be poor due to stock amp?
TIA

if you can mount the speeakers you can hook pretty much anything up.

sound quality issues come in when you have stock amps that send only bass to rear deck speakers etc. if there are resistors inline with the old speakers you may want to consider moving them over to the new ones. otherwise if it isn't sending just bass sound is sound and will improve by having better speakers.

So I can use any new 6x9 and disconnect the 3.5 in the back to connect to my new 6x9's cuz my car has a cutout for it?
The problem I have is that, when I do install the 6x9's the sound quality from my stock amp will be so weak that I should of just left the rears stock.
What do u think?
Ahhhhh...just got my car and want to upgrade but it's so hard with limited selections and what not...arrrggggghhhh!
