Tint tomorrow

Getting my tint tomorrow, suggestions on darkness?

I don't want to risk a pullover (DUIFTL) but Minnesota's 50% tint law is weak.

I saw a car with 50% tint at the shop and it barely looked tinted at all.

That seems like a waste of $190.

Maybe 35%?

My car is nocturne blue if that helps with suggestions.

Maybe I will do a poll, always wanted to do that.

Do 35% at the least. Anything over 35% is a waste of $ imo.

Ideally, I'd go 15% all around but some people have more issues with police in their area than others.

Couple shots to see the difference.
My Aero had 15% all around.
The 900 was 35% all around.

Not the best pics, but you can see the difference. My main gripe with 35% is that on a sunny day, you can easily see through the tint. I need tint to remain anonymous. For me, getting followed, photographed, and asked for autographs gets old.

To those that say 15% is crazy dark, look at this pic taken on a sunny day.

^ 15% looks hot, I see what you mean about the 35%

Thanks for the pics.

Law enforcement is plentiful in my area.

I am often fearful of a pull over after, oh say, about 2AM.

20% isn't too bad, I have that all around. But really though, it's a pain in the ass to see at night. I have to roll my windows down to look at the mirrors when backing up.. thats my only gripe with the tint. Cops don't seem to mind, its a Saab....

I've got 35f/20r on my 9k. I probably wouldn't want to go any darker, mostly because it becomes increasingly difficult to see when its dark out.

What color is your car?

I definitely wouldn't go that dark on a blue color. Colors like silver/black/white the tint tends to look more 'natural' on the car and not stick out as much to the po-po.

I think I'd rather just save the money and leave the windows clear vs. 50%.

I have 35% on my Viggen and it's perfect.

Been pulled over once now going on 3 years. No ticket, just a "please remove it when you can" warning.

Having been in more cars with all sorts of tint, I wouldn't get anything darker in MN than 35%. If you are farther south I can see it. Darker than that and it starts to become troublesome to see out of at night.

From my understanding, tint is a non-moving violation, and it's just like $100 or $150 ticket. So if you get one say once a year, you could consider that your tint annual membership.

That's what I plan to do, once I find a money tree or something.
