headlight/foglight bulbs

Does anyone know how bright of a bulb the stock lighting harness can take without melting? 8k,10k,12k, etc.

Also, does anyone know where I can find out what bulb number the foglights are?

If you are running halogens, it doesn't matter, K is just the color temp rating, the higher the kelvin rating (K) the lower your actual light output will be since they coat the bulb with color to achieve that, an 8k halogen will be like not having lights in the rain... it will only annoy the heck out of others and possibly get you pulled over. Same goes for HID bulbs, the higher the K, the lower the output, for hid's the best is 4000 to 4300k, which is basically about the color of daylight (Audi, BMW, Saab, etc, use bulbs in this range), the crazy violet shades you see now and then from HID cars with projectors is color shift from the lense around the cutoff. You want to be concerned with wattage for halogens, HID i believe is standard 35 watt (light output is rated in lumens, which hids put out a great deal more of than a standard halogen), i ran 100 watts once for a trip in my viggen but took them out, the wiring was ok (not to say it couldn't have done anything, it just didn't) but i didn't want too much heat in the housings to melt or damage anything.

Hope this answers your question. And if i remember correctly the 9-3 SS is an H3 fog. If you have HID lighting i would suggest the PIAA Ion Yellow or w/e their yellow bulb is called for your fog lights, gives a very nice look and is great in foul weather.
