Spacers

Anybody ever try those wheel spacers on their cars? I would like a wider look but I'm concerned with the safety aspect. If anybody has ever tried them out, please let me know how it went.

Thanks,
Dan.

They can be perfectly safe as long as they are good quality and aren't so long that the lugs don't have enough threads into the lugs. In that case you may need to purchase longer lugs.

Wheel spacers worry me because of the extra stress put on the wheel bearings. Because of the effective position of the wheel with the spacers, it puts more torque on the wheel bearings. In terms of the lugs, just dont end up like this guy

Like stromer says, good quality spacers with longer lugs and you'll be fine.

I ran spacers on two different 9ks for 2+ years. Never had any wheel bearing problems or wheels fly off, etc.
