they're not too bad to be shipped as long as it stays in the US (usually around $22). Going to Canada, the shipping box size is limited - so it can be a fiasco.. Ask me how I know.
hey thanks!

I just found another set - the same ones in the pic. I paid him, and Im awaiting shipment. However, they're coming from Canada - and Im afraid it might take a while. I had a horrendous time trying to ship out the 'airflow' louvers I posted at the beginning of the thread, to a friend here on Saablink - hes in Canada as well.

Problem is, the louvers (in shallowest box avail.) are too big for Canadian mail. Has been nothing but a hassle trying to get them out. I even sent him a set of louvers a month prior, by UPS. They were crushed, and taco'd before they even got out of Missouri. Cant use FedEx because they wanted $80 to get them there. Yeah...

So, if you're looking to get the ones I just found, Im not sure when they're getting here, but I'll PM you when they do. Didnt look to see where youre from, but I can only ship them within US from now on. PM me if I forget to check in with you about them.

If I was getting that same set of louvres sent to Australia (using Fedex, UPS, etc.) it would cost about 10 times that much!

hey guys/gals - so, the 'airflow' louvers I have in this thread are for sale again - had sooo many problems trying to get them to canada, the buyer decided to just get a refund. dont blame him, took way too long trying to figure out how I was going to get an oversized box to canada withut them being destroyed (as what happened to the first set of louvers I tried to send there). so anyway, if you're within the US, and want these Airflow louvers, let me know - they're a really rare set. No mounting hardware though. just read the thread, theres more info about them. PM me or somethin.

sorry about the crappy cell phone pics....

the top one has the rear stop light bend, the bottom doesnt. The louvers are identical otherwise.

The one on the bottom has "shadow" imprinted on the bottom louver, the top one doesnt.

dont mind the weights on the top one, some of the weather stripping was coming off so i put silcone on it to keep it on.

My understanding is that the plastic ones were offered Saab but not sure about the metal ones ('Shadow' louvres from Roger Chastain).

Hey guys,

This is my first post on this forum. I just turned 21 years old and on my birthday i payed myself a 1988 spg as a second car to my 900 convertible. I was surfing that forum to have a good idea on what modifications i could bring to my new toy!

I really want to get a hand on a metal louver. I'm having a hard time finding one on google. Can you guys help me? Maybe one of you have one for sale! I might be looking for a whaletail to.

Thanks!

first time i've seen this thread... nice to see all the different louvers offered!

I've had 2 sets now of the "flat" (non 3rd brake light) shadow louvers. First set I got off an old friend without hardware, second, current set came installed on my 85 from the dealer as shown on the original window sticker.

The set that came on my 85 does need a fresh paint job this winter with some satin black rattle can paint.

I have a set of aluminum louvers I can sell that are not the shadows... at least, they don't have the cut-outs. They do have the third brake light uptick. They are in good, useable condition, with the exception of a few bends in some of the louvers and 3 fractures on the spines. I have the metal mounting brackets, including upper ones that are hinged. Does that help??

Oh ok, I don't have that brake light so they might look a little funny, I was really keen on the shadows with the cut outs... perhaps I'll pass and keep looking

I don't need them urgently or anything, I'm sure they must be around, apparently they're the most common type of louver

Hey guys I know it’s a wicked old thread and is rarely used anymore. But recently I mounted my louvres and put that on youtube. https://youtu.be/tKe-y4JvDwo

Exactly when did Roger Chastain's company stop making their louvre products? I'm presuming Roger manufactured them for lots of different car models not just Saab C900's?

I've always wanted some, but have never seen any on other C900's here in Australia. Only the icky plastic (factory I think?) louvres.

Craig.
