9000 Aero in distress

On my way back from NH on Rte 2 West this evening, I saw a nice black Aero, in the breakdown lane. Being a 9000 lover, I took the next exit and swung it around to see if I could offer assistance. Having a hatch full of Saab 9000 parts, it's usually a pretty good shot that I've got what one may need in a jam.
I asked the owner, "Anything I can do to help? I've got a ridiculous amount of Saab 9000 parts on board my 9000."
"I think I've got a dead battery..Just stopped and won't crank" he answered.
The one thing I haven't got-- A JumpBox.

I need a JumpBox...

Any reccos?

Thanks for you time reading, and good luck to the Aero driver/owner. Sorry I couldn't help.

if the battery died while he was driving the alternator probably went, unless he snapped his serp but im guessing he would have noticed that

Get the Clore Automotive JNC660 Jump-N-Carry 1,700 Peak Amp 12-Volt Jump Starter off Amazon, it has been on sale for $99 as one of daily deals.

why was he stuck by the side of the highway in need of a jump?? if the car wsa running to get him there, than it should have kept going untill he turned it off,, unless an alt dies, in which case a jump will do him very little good

I figured it was probably his altenator also...
Oliver, have you used that jump pack? I want to buy something that is durable/dependable. Thanks for the recommendation, I'll check it out.

The DIC I DID have in my hatch... I should have tried that...
A bad DIC would stop the car from cranking?

Ouch...
Still lot of the time people just don't pay attention to the gauges/noises their cars are making. Or don't care, kinda sad. At my work a 3rd of the cars that the rollback drivers pick up are "broke-down" because they ran out of gas.

my girlfriend has an employee that called out of work because of car trouble. The next day when she came in the car trouble was that her dad wasnt home to fill her gas tank and he always told her to not let it go below a quarter tank. this girl lives 3 miles from her work and was just at a quarter tank. She was able to come in the next day because another family member came to fill her tank.

people are dumb

Isn't extreme stupidity grounds for dismissal?

Yes I got one from Amazon, it can start a car without a battery, buy once cry once. I didn't and I have a bunch of worthless ones. Even have a deal for battery replacement for I think 5 years.

UPDATE-- I spotted a familiar looking black Aero at my friends shop in W. Acton. I called him up and asked him about it. Turns out it was the car that I'd seen broken down. Also turns out that the lower end is seized up tighter than a ducks *ss. ALSO turns out, that particular black '97 Aero is my old car! So, dude is in need of an engine and has limited fundage.
There may be a very solid '97 Aero black/black on the market very soon. However, it'll need an engine. body-great interior-great. I babied that car and sold it with 140k. Aparently the last owner wasn't very into changing his oil.
