sticking shifter

This issue started yesterday morning. I got in, started the car and tossed it into neutral while getting situated, then I went to back out of my driveway. I backed out a bit too far and went to put it in first to pull back in, and the shifter suddenly felt very stiff. It's very strange, the further from reverse it gets, the stiffer it gets. I drove the car the day before with no issues at all. Going into reverse still feels normal, it drives fine, no noises, and not trying to engage multiple gears at once. I looked at the shift linkage in the engine compartment, and there isn't anything caught up in it and no visible damage. I need to check the tower assembly still, but that seems unlikely. I need some ideas on what to look for, I'm trying to save some time. Really hoping it's not internal to the box though, no time to pull that and break it down lol. Thanks in advance.

I found my problem! Its a relatively cheap fix too haha. The rear transmission mount, the one that bolts up at the differential, has collapsed and the driveline tilt is putting too much pressure on the shift rod where it passes through the bulkhead. Once I get a new mount, I should be all set. Something to keep in mind if anyone has this issue in the future
