Tach Flicks...?

So I've noticed that every once in a while, despite no other signs of distress (Eg, revs dropping, stalling, no throttle response) that the tach will flick down for a second before buoyantly resuming its post at ~900rpm.
Does this happen to anyone else? I have a fairly new CPS in there, it's got maybe 20k miles on it.The wire is not chaffed on the CPS either, and the magnetic part is clean and not covered in filings or varnish where it meets the crank trigger wheel.
Any ideas?

Fault in circuit board of the instrument cluster is my bet! Seeing more and more NG's with flaky clusters... BBA rebuilds them.

Yep, it will only get worse. Our last ng900's cluster didn't work completely. I could get it to light up for a second by pounding on the dash.

Well that is actually reassuring, as I was concerned that I was going to have to start short-checking the loom
My car vibrates a little, as it has no balance chains and very aggressive poly engine mounts.
