Changing an ignition switch

I took my 99 saab 9-3 to a mechanic to get the radiator replaced and he lost the only set of keys I have, do I need to replace the ignition switch and get the keys that goes to it or do these cars have keys with chips and can the car just relearn it with it's current ignition?

You can order pre-cut keys from a dealership or good automotive locksmith, Lost Saab Keys can also program the TWICE module (anti-theft control unit) to the new keys.

Is the shop a Saab shop? Do they have the ability to code used key chips? They need the Saab diagnostic tool called a Tech2, lots of threads on here about losing the keys and what has to be done.
