2004 9-3 convertible top manual close

It appears the hydraulic line has a leak and now the top wont close. Have manually pulled the top up but cant lock the front. Also cant get the back to secure. Any suggestions?

let's see it's july... your post is march ... hope you got it figured out... for everyone else

don't close the front latch until the back is fully engaged.
release the hydraulic value(behind the backseat - (lefty loosey).. make sure the tonneau cover is fully closed and catches the top... see page 46 in the manual. There is a manual latch on the right rear truck. Once you have the back of the top secured, to the tonneau cover, close the front latch

This post is for an '04 9-3, the header latches that lock the edge of the top to the windscreen are hydraulic, and there is no pressure relief valve behind the rear seat like the earlier 9-3's '99-'03, the system is completely different.

The procedure is in the owner's manual, and there are some special tools in the tool kit in the spare tire well to raise and lower the soft top.
