Parts I have replaced on my Saab

I though it could be helpful to put together a list of Saab parts that I have replaced since I purchased the vehicle nearly 7 years ago. Despite its length my Saab has had relatively few parts that simply failed, most I believe have failed either due to above average abuse, such as the engine and tranny, or because I broke the part during disassembly. And nearly half the list was replaced because of performance reasons rather than a failure.

I have not included common wear or replacement parts such as filters and sparkplugs. Also I did not included extra modifications such as gauges and tried to limit the list to parts that have failed or been upgraded.

It is difficult to warp a head, I doubt that you damaged yours with slight overheating. You really have to try to warp a head. I blew a hose in the mountains on the way to a ski race and had to continue to drive and stop to cool down the engine, it was 8 degrees F out. But even that did not significantly warp the head. When I had the head machined it was barely out of tolerance. The leak was caused by a blow-out in part of the head gasket.

I've never thought about this.

-Shifter assembly (used)
-Brakelight switch (GM part - worn out)
-Bulbs (All over car, typically headlights, regardless of brand)
-Linkage bushing (worn out, broken)
-Thermostat (stuck open)
-Ignition module (misfire due to poor insulation)
-Turbocharger (blowing oil, replaced with stock used T25)
-Wheels (Vikings are uglyyyy)
-Front pads (Akebono ceramic)
-Grille (aesthetic)
-Flexpipe (rotten through)
-Mats (stained, falling apart)
-Upper idler pulley (shattered 200 miles away in Indiana)
-Gas cap (poor vacuum, I think? I don't remember)
-Battery
-Throttle body cover (ruined the first one)
-Turbo heat shield (Not equipped on NG900s)

As far as the engine goes, off the top of my head:

-Timing chain and guides
-All gaskets, seals and o-rings
-Oil pump gears and cover
-Timing Cover
-PVC valve
-Most vacuum hoses
-All coolant hoses
-Oil pressure sensor

This doesn't include some of the other stuff I've ghetto rigged - for example, there are two metal hoses beneath the exhaust manifold - I had to pull them both to braise one of them, it had a pin-sized hole that needed to be patched.

Edit: Wow, re-read. These cars are a plague if they're not properly taken care of. Mine's even been garaged every winter of its life and I still dealt with all of this. Previous owner must've beat the shit out of it.

This is a lot of stuff for two and a half years, especially considering the car hasn't been driven the past year.
