I overrevved my car. Ment to go to fifth, hit third. Caught it quick, but its missing horribly, wont run without foot on pedal. Whats the likely damage? sorry, i'd explain more, but im completely shook up. FUCK!

I think the word you're looking for is "retroactive".

Sorry to hear man. Hope you get it sorted quickly.

They do but if you put it into a lower gear and let out the clutch they cannot overrule the direct connection the the wheels causing the over-rev.

From every post I have read in regards to the missed shift. The prognosis isn't good. I would be prepaired to purchase a new head from another T7 car off car-part.com

Have a compression test run. First.

You might have floated a couple of valves.

The T7 heads flow better, but from what I hear the valves are a lot weaker.

I bent 4 exhaust valves when I missed a shift last summer. Needed a new head.

Total cost was about $1,300.

I shifted from 3rd to 4th though and never got it into 4th (let the clutch out too soon). I never put it in a lower gear if this makes a difference.

Good luck, man...I know how you're feelin

X2

Guaranteed, had a younger customer do it three times in about a month. Same deal, highway racing 4th to 3rd.
