FCUK this viggen!

THIS DAMN THING JUST DOESNT WANT TO COOPERATE.

did the pcv #6 update and put on the saab sport. started it up and it ran for 3 minutes or so and then just shut off while throwing a code and now wont start.

its throwing code P1230 which in mitchell is tps voltage out of range (im gonna be pissed if it is since thats a 400 dollar part)

but on the scanner 1230 comes up as slow fuel pump, but when you turn the key to on you can hear the fuel pump prime.

there is also a loud ticking that seems to be coming from the black hosing on the drivers side of the TB.

any ideas?

this is slowly ending my hopes of going to carlisle....

You will hear a series of five clicks with the ignition is turned on that is saying that the tb is going into a limphome mode you pull off that metal cover by the dipstick you will see the throttle linkage there are two levers and if the one lever is further back towrads the firewall then it is in limphome mode. YOu can try and take your battery cable off and rest the linkage, what you hae to do is take a flat screwdriver and pull up on the little wire that rests against the lever and raise that lever(which the wire was against) and move it above the lever on the other side(furthest from the tb opening)

well after finding i could start and run it if i controlled the throttle, i cleared the codes and it ran and idled for 10 minutes. code stayed off...we drove 10 miles and got p1251 which didnt affect anything, cleared that while driving and it has been fine since, and its definetly not in limp mode cuz it pulls like a mofo. so we shall see now.

all we did was take off the connector and clean it and plug back in.

the electronic throttle body is a pain. but when they work, they are amazing with what they can do.

fyi, a new one from eeuro is like 268 (iirc). thats still a pretty darn high price, but better than the 4 or 500 that a dealer would want.

you can probably find a good used one too.

EDIT: did you try cleaning the throttle body? with throttle body cleaner, and moving the throttle plate by hand to clean all around it?

those throttle housings are relativly common to fail like this. 1230 and 1231 are the norm for codes from them.

good luck.

well...now it threw p1230 again, and also p1260 which on my scanner shows up as theft detected car immobilized haha.

1260 is really something about the throttle return spring not having enough tension....so i really think this tb is toast.

and now i drobe the 9k for the first time since january and after 60 miles it went into base boost 100 feet from my drive way...son of a bitch.
