Remove tripod cv joint from the Viggen companion flange

Hi, I got the CV axle out of the passenger side. It was difficult job. It did not want to come out of the intermediate shaft first. Now, I got a new cv axle and it ends with the tripod/outer joint, no companion flange/inner drive (P/N 4686911). The Viggen one has a lip/cone so you cannot pull it out directly. One of your senior members suggested to cut the pressed-on aluminum lip/cone out. Will this be ok? Is there another way to get the tripod joint out? I need to get my car on the road ASAP.

Well, I bent the companion flange lip in three places and pulled the tripod out. Then, I found out my new 9-3 2.3T CV axle from AutoZone (P/N 9628N) for $73 is an inch too long and shaft is about 1 mm too small, the ABS ring has 29 teeth but smaller than the OEM one, and tripod looks very different as well. It looks like I will have to buy the Viggen inner and outer CV joints from eEuroparts and install them on my OEM Viggen shaft for $420 in the morning. Do I have any other options?
