Massive Oil leak

Hi all! New to this forum and pretty clueless about cars. I am trying to determine where to have my 00 9-3 Saab towed...I have a mechanic close by that I like but I am an hour+drive to a great Saab mechanic that I trust more for big issues (and they will buy my car for scraps if need be). You all seem so wise I thought if I posted a video of where the leak was coming from you may have an idea of what the issue is? The issue developed while the car was under a LOT of pressure, (front tires chained up & driving up to our house at 8k ft in a wild snowstorm). The check engine and ! light came on and it stalled... but no lights are on when I start it up now. The car was having some other unrelated intermittent issues as well (Key Not Accepted)... and I know the Twice can be a costly fix so I am just trying to determine how serious this new issue is so I can make a decision about what i should do with it! Thank you so much!

Whoops- I guess I can't post a video but it is essentially pouring out from around this piece.

Looks like you have an automatic.

My guess is that's probably a rear seal failure--the seal that goes around the crangshaft behind the flexplate. You have to pull the transmission to get to it.

That said, I've never seen one fail catastrophically like that before. Normally they start weeping. Is there any oil behind the block (oil pressure sensor, they normally leak internally) or from the front of the block higher up at the turbo?

I've never seen a rear main seal go like that either. Are you sure it's oil, and not transmission fluid?

It's looks like non-factory sealer on the seam to the right in the photo... has some work been done down there recently? Was the tranny out and perhaps a seal was improperly installed?
