Front coil spring broke

I thought I read recently that their was a recall on the Saabs 2005 and newer for coil spring breakage. True? I ordered a replacement coil spring, (they ony had 1 right now) and am going to rent a spring compressor to help install. I need a video to be sure how to do it. Anyone know anything about the recall? or the best video?

What year is your 9-5? The recall was for 9-3's due to a corrosion issue.

You posted in the "New" 9-5 forum, which is for the 2010 & 2011 cars, which are very close to still being within warranty. If this is the car you have, you should check with GM's service help line and a dealership before you start replacing things yourself.

Any new news on recalls for 2011 9-5's? Had a front coil spring break today.
Said it will be 4-6 weeks for a new spring to come in from Sweden.

Help! I want to drive my car!

Thanks for the empathy... Do you know of any sources for springs? Right now, dealer is waiting for shipment from Europe.

Any idea for warranty???

No idea. I have seen a few new 9-5's lowered, have you considered sport style springs?
