2008 9-3 GM Radio Aux In problem

Hey all,
im hoping someone else has had this same problem and come up with a possible fix/can confirm the fixes in the attached thread work.

Galaxy S3 Saab 9-3 Aux In problem

Saab trying to be ahead of the curve made our GM sourced radios "Sense" when something was plugged into the Aux-In since my GS3 also "Senses" when something is plugged into the headphone jack this causes some major problems as neither can seem to "Sense" that the other is plugged in thereby making the Aux-In completely useless to me.

Ive thought about getting a Griffin Blue Trip from Amazon and hardwiring that to power and to the Aux-In as I hope it will always "sense" something is connected and allow me to stream from my phone.

anyone have any experience with this or suggestions that don't involve removing the factory radio and spending $100s on a new deck that for the proper look would have to be double din and backlit the right color?

I've never heard of this before.

Is there some kind of audiophile output box to connect to your phone that gives a line-level output or something to remove that feature?

thats what i am wondering and hoping for. i think its a problem specific to the GS3 and this specific stereo.

i could replace either but both are $100s to replace as opposed to something simple like an adaptor or box

Solved. heres an update for everyone.

I grabbed a
Griffin Bluetrip Griffin Bluetrip
and a 12V Clip On Accessory Power Outlet

I then hardwired the clip on to the back of the power outlet in the center cubby placed the Bluetrip in the power adaptor paired it and ran the 3.5mm cable to the aux-in on the radio. I am now connected via bluetooth everytime i sit in the car. i will eventually solder the 3.5mm cable wires into the pins on the back of the radio for a cleaner look but for now this works and doesnt even block the cup holder.

heres some pics

Nice. I bet that's a better experience overall anyway. When BT stuff is done right it's awesome.

Thanks for the tip.
