No restart after TB clean
Hello. I removed and cleaned my throttle body today, including the electrical section, and now my car goes immediately into limp home mode when key turned to ON positioneven. I've reset it multiple times. I finally got it to start twice but quickly died. One item of note, the insulation of the 8 internal wires was cracked and brittle and mostly fallen off. I used liquid tape to coat them. Have any of you tried that? Any way I can salvage this without buying a new TB? Thanks.
Are you clearing the fault codes before you try to reset the throttle body? It has to be in this order:
1) Key on
2) Clear DTC's
3) Key off
4) Reset limp-home mechanism
5) Start engine.
If it goes immediately into limp and you can see insulation coming apart you can try to goop it up, but it might be shot.
