Service Theft Alarm even after BBA Reman rebuilt alarm unit

I'm extremely baffled and am in need of help with the security system on my 2003 9-5 Aero.
The SID is displaying service theft alarm. I wasn't getting any random alarms or beeping from the alarm unit itself. Key recognition fine I believe since the doors lock and unlock reliably as does starting the car, etc. I've had BBA rebuild the alarm unit with no success. I called BBA and they sent another alarm unit from their inventory which worked temporarily until I reestablished recognition of key fob to the car to unlock/lock doors. I've disconnected the battery several times in order to clear the error msg but is still coming back after reestablishing key fob to the car.

What am I missing since almost every thread I can find in my exhaustive search always points to rebuilding the alarm unit with new batteries and capacitors which is what BBA is doing I believe. They rebuilt one on another 9-5 aero I own and it cleared the issue immediately.

What else could be the problem all you experts out there. You guys have never failed me in the past and your help is very much appreciated again this time.

Unfortunately, you're only going to know with a tech2 to scan for the error.
It could be the plunger for the hood has gone missing, and the car thinks the hood isn't closed. It could be the trunk latch is broken if you have a wagon.
It could be the microphone for the broken glass "monitor".

Bottom-line is that guesses rarely work. hook up a tech2 from a dealer/mechanic and it'll tell you exactly what's wrong.
