piston???

Instagram

I think this Is a cracked piston I found in my oil pan. Do I need to replace all the pistons or just the cracked one?

That is definitive evidence that something is really wrong with the engine. Before you think about what work needs to be done to repair, you need to determine why it happened. Of it is sludge, you need to fix that or else the same failures will continue.

I would remove the engine and do a complete tear down. It's likely that the head is trashed from the piston slamming into it. Also likely the cylinder walls have deep scores. The list of damage is probably more extensive.

This...this looks like a candidate for a full engine replacement...

A vacuum line came off wastegate so it over boosted. I thought it blew the head gasket because it was pouring white smoke out. I changed the head gasket and pulled the oil pan and thats what I found In it. No sludge problem motor has 50k mi, very clean inside.

If that is indeed a piston there is a lot more up there. I would thing the cylinder wall is past honing repair, but you wont know till you pull the head. You might get lucky and find the rod intact and the wall ok. repair is possible
