Question Alarm Siren

I have a 2001 9-5, left it parked for few months, Battery went dead. Tried starting it after charging the battery, the alarm went off. Did every thing to try and stop it. Replaced car battery, playing with the remote will shut it for 2 seconds then start all over. Sent the alarm pad to California to get the 2 little batteries replaced, nothing. Even replace the battery on the remote. Still can not get this alarm to stop. Any ideas out there? Not sure what next to do except junk it already. Any input will be appreciated. Thanks

Quick and easy temp solution is to unplug the alarm sounder, mounted under the left front fender, forward of the tire.

Along with the batteries, I've read of needing to replace the capacitors on the board to prevent erroneous soundings of the alarm.

Yep, I disconnected my Viggen's alarm last year and it has yet to be stolen. You will be safe.

you can bring it to your local dealer or indie and for less than an hour of labor they should be able to bypass the siren and the faulty batteries and connect to your horn. no more chirp when locking/unlocking but no annoying neighbor angering siren at 3 am.

its what we did to our 2002 Aero when that happened last year

I sent the Alarm pad itself and had the batteries replaced. Still did not help.
If i unplug the Alarm Sounder, the car refuses to Start. I just need it start and runs i do not care about the Alarm. Not sure anyone will want to steal it anyway.
No saab dealer within 40miles to tow it to.

you need someone with a techII that has security access i beleive and they can disable the alarm. make it just keyless entry then. But that is really your only option. i understand that on the on the 9-5s before 2003 unplugging any part of the alarm disables it and in turn the starter. has to be done properly.
