2000 9-5 Tapping

A few months ago I let my girl-friend use my 2000 9-5 aero for a month or two. When I got the car back it was 1 qt low on oil. She also hit a nasty pot hole and had to have the front passenger side tire replaced, it is a 235/45 (little fatter)

The car has over 160K miles on the original motor.

Now when i start up the engine it makes a quite noticeable tapping sound for about 10 - 15 seconds. Then the motor sounds perfect after that.... Once the motor is warmed up to operating Temp, you can start it and it will not making the tapping sound upon start up.....

Do you guys think that she could have loosened up a bit of sludge when she hit the pot hole, which is causing the tapping?

I want to have the sludge cleaned out anyways, but you you guys think it is somting else i will probally let the car sit longer before i have enough money to fix it right...

Ideas?

If you're extremely concerned about it, have the valve cover area cleaned out, and put a new gasket on it. Then, have the oil pan dropped and cleaned, and put in the updated pick up tube/screen. Should be about ~$500 at a shop, and you will have peace of mind. The PCV update #6 should be put on the car ASAP if it does not have it.

I updated the PCV about 2 years ago, I also blew a line near the passenger side strut mount when it over boosted w/injector cleaner 4 or 5 drives ago. How long ago did the #6 come out? Thanks for the Advise!
