01 9-5 cranks but won't start

We recently purchased a used saab 9-5 wagon 2.3 turbo (non aero) haven't had any problems until last night. The car just cranked and cranked but wouldn't start. Let it sit for a few hours. . Went out it started right up but had a engine light on.. So this morning I started it, let it get up to temp and turned it off, it started right up and the engine light was gone. So I took it for a quick 20 min ride and came home. Few hours later the car just cranks bit won't start. Any ideas?? Im thinking a cps maybe. . I've also read some threads about the neutral safety switch. We've only had the car for a week. . It does have high mileage aprox 209k

CPS is a DIY job, see if the tach bounces. There is a Neutral safety switch mod or jump to see if that is the problem.

So if the needle bounces on the tach that would mean it's the cps? Or the safety switch?
