check engine light not on and no codes are present now or ever before. light does work comes on when u turn key then goes off

CPS should be 1000 ohms or less across pins 1 and 2.

Also, make sure none of the pins are backing out of the dic connector.

1000 ohms while cranking I take it? because that is not what I am getting at the plug without cranking.
I took the plugs out grounded them and crank it over. They spark one time only. then they go dead. tach still doesnt bounce. DI is new not aftermarket not used, Last edited by thanasi; 05-22-2013 at 05:33 AM. |

It is a manual trans. Dont have another saab here. CPS is exactly the same. tested both new and old both have same oms around 970. Is it possible to get a new bad DI? There is no way to return I wouldn't think its electical.

It has to be the computer ECU its the only other thing I can think that it can be. If it is the computer should it have a code because there are no codes. Where is the computer located? found it right kick panel

I had a mitsubishi eclipse once that wouldn't satrt and it was the coolant temp sensor? could that be the case here? Is that possible/

if the ECU was bad the car wouldn't even try to turn over or even turn on. Everything in these cars runs through the ECU.
we've asked about 30 times where you got the DI Cassette from and you haven't answered. if it wasn't from a reputable saab place and is some ebay or Chinese knock off it can very likely be the culprit. at this point you should get someone who is a saab specialist out to the car or have it towed. you are only going to damage more and make the problem worse if you keep digging like this with no clue where the problem truly is.

99 9-5 wagon, 2.3l engine, had the same problem, new CPS solved the problem. according to another site CPS at pins 1 and 2 and my multimeter showed 0.834k ohms. It is possible to get a bad CPS from the factory.
You already confirmed that the o ring is out and that the CPS is set deep enough and firmly seated. Assumption is that DI is plugged in, I've done that before. Wiring to DI is in good shape? I also pull the plugs and flip the DI over and put the plugs in, attach the wiring harness and ground the plugs, it does an interesting light show/shows that spark or not. 99 9-5 has a fuel rail that takes a standard fuel pressure gauge. What is the reading? Beyond that, get gold level AAA and have it towed to a shop that does Saabs.

Good Morning
I have a 2001, 9-3 SE with a 2.0 engine. I haven't being able to make it work, it runs for a minute or so then it stalls. I replace the pump and the filter, CPS its on its way. no Saab repairs shops in my area. can any body assist me? |

Do the have pressure at fuel rail? Any hoses including the intercooler hose loose? Battery in good shape?
