ecu swap, no cruise control

I just did an aero turbo upgrade on my 99 9-5 auto. I put in an ecu from a 2000 aero auto (i think). It has gotten a lot more powerful, but cruise is now gone. Could this be directly related to the ecu?

Put your old one back in and see if it still works first.

conclusion

After driving about 500 miles without cruise, i decided to fix the problem. I pulled the cel code at autozone and got something about "idle control." I checked all vac lines to no avail. Then I tried swapping ecu's, but i didn't realize that the ecu's need to be marrried each time you change it, i mean that the car is monogamous with its ecu's. I had no access to a tech 2, so i put the aero ecu back in. Upon reinstallation, I saw that the fourth pin fron the top of the connector on the t7 box (in the installed position) was bent. I pryed it back with a screwdriver. Ecu was installed, check engine light was gone, cruise was back. Car has aero power and now idles at less than 1500 rpm.

Great to hear you fixed it.

Your idle does sound very high being "less then 1500 rpm".
