Stuck Wastegate FTL

The rod popped off on Sunday at some point along the Maine Turnpike south and now the actual arm on the exhaust housing is about 180-degrees off from where its supposed to be and not budging... what's the deal?

Pop the DP off and see what you can see. That's probably the best way to figure it out.

X2, or you can be lazy like me and hit it with a pry bar and hammer. I hate when they get stuck, it always happens after a test pound. I don't have time to let it cool down, so I unstick it with force.

Have you tried moving it when the car was hot or cold?

I tried moving the lever when the car was somewhat cooled down, but still almost unbearable to the touch. I will pop the downpipe off in the AM.

Everything is fixed, had to drop the downpipe to unjam the thing but all is well. Thanks for all the suggestions, guys.

Did you figure out why it got stuck?

When the rod popped off the lever, the lever swung past its usual open position and lodged an edge on the output flange. Where this turbo has 218k miles on it, there is enough play in that lever to jimmy it back to where it was supposed to be.
