2005 Turbo making high pitched noise

Hi,
I have a 2005 sportwagon, thatís having an issue with the turbo. When the turbo goes into the yellow, there is a high pitched whine. When it happens it sounds like a Japanese motorcycle is about to pass me. When it first started happening last year, I spent a lot of time looking in my side view mirrors looking for motorcycles. I finally realized it was coming from my turbo, or at least my car when the turbo hits the yellow. Any idea what it might be?
Thanks,
Jason

Got a recording? Could potentially be a boost leak. Have you looked under the hood at all? Hack you checked anything?

Can I engage the turbo while the car is stationary? Otherwise it would be difficult to record, as it only happens when accelerating. I donít have any mechanical experience and donít have a Saab mechanic near me, that Iím aware of, so I havenít had it checked yet.

Turbo noise

Hi, yes bypass is a possibility, as sometimes are bearings but why not take it to a workshop ..even a SAAB one if desperate, ...as your car is registered....and ask them but not for a paid diagnosis. There are also turbo experts....there are also industrial stethoscopes (be careful around belts) quite cheap to buy ...better than hit and miss here, even if the correct answer arrives/has arrived.
