I would start with a fluid flush. I bet its original fluid. Where are you located?

Can you start it in reverse and the clutch pedal pressed in - and back up like normal - then press the clutch in and knock it out of reverse? If you can't do that, I'd check shifter alignment, and if it's not that, seems like there may be larger issues.

Had a Viggen once that did this, ended up needing just a clutch assembly. Try Drew's suggestions first, though. If it was just the synchro, blocker ring or gear it would still try to go into gear but it would be grinding. Could be getting jammed, but like Drew said start with the simple.

Saabeh did you ever figure out your reverse issue or are you just putting it off till you need to totally go in and rebuild it?

Still the same. I get it into reverse every time, just takes some "finagling." I have a gearbox in the basement ready to be installed some day.
