Broken Tensioner Problem Solved
I imagine that this happens quite a bit. You are replacing the serpentine belt and the tensioner bracket cracks, so that you are not able to get the pry bar to move the tensioner. I got around that problem and the possible added expense of having to replace the tensioner. I used a carjack from an 89 Mercedes Benz. By placing the jack foot or base on the firewall of the SAAB and positioning the jack just behind the tensioner bracket, you can slowly wind the jack and move the tensioner. TA DA, the belt slid right over the tensioner pulley and what looked like a daunting repair job and additional money being thrown away, turned out to be a success.
