I was thinking along the lines of what DeLorean said...and yes I'm pretty sure Greg is going to be taking the head in for a cleaning and rebuild, the other side of the head actually looks really nice, it's very clean and there is on varnish anywhere - the cylinders do look dir-ty though.
Are there setups that would allow for honing the cylinder sleeves while the pistons are in place? The #1 cyl is really bad, but the others just seems to have carbon deposits and that's about it...I am kinda hoping that the bad sleeve could be cleaned up somehow, but I'm not sure what the best method short of pulling the motor and bringing it to be honed would be. Super-fine steel wool maybe?
Its a damn shame how little room is under the hood of a 99 compared to a c900. Talk about knuckle busting!
