Rear coils spring rates

I need suggestions on some spring rates for my rear setup.
Right now i have a set that's pretty soft (car fluctuates a good amount between low fuel and half a tank)
And I have no clue where to start on a spring rate for the rear of my car
ill be keeping the same height spring, just want to change the spring rate.

oh and where can i find them for a good deal

I don't know that this is definitive: http://www.saablink.net/forum/902655-post51.htm

You might want to find someone who winds springs and bring yours to them, get them measured for rate, plan from there.

Before reading that article I was guessing 200-300 lbs and it appears to back it up.

I def agree with Bob though on seeing where you are and going from there...

Also found this:
How do you measure spring rates: Grassroots Motorsports forum: Grassroots Motorsports Magazine

"HOW TO RATE COIL SPRINGS

Spring Rate = GD^4/8ND^3

G=Torsional Modulus for Steel = 11.25x10^6

D=Wire Diameter in Inches

N=Number of Active Coils

D=Mean Coil Diameter in Inches

8=A Constant for all Coil Springs

Copied from another forum. Didn't 'fact check' this."
