The double-six's look turrible, IMO.

So, 10 spokes by default.

Agreed. The ten spokes look much, much, better.

The Sportage SX FWD feels like what saab would have done for a 4 cylinder turbo cross over or CUV. the turbo feels pretty good and the handling is like a sports car. I test drove a few CUV's before I/we decided on the Kia sportage. The car is simple with great unique and original design lines. the interior is also simple and somewhat sporty with leather etc. The panoramic roof is great. The technology package ( GPS cams sat radio etc are cool). what really sold us is how the car drove/ the price/ the warranty.
Here is how I got hooked. stopped at a dealer and asked to drive an SX. we took it on a twisty and I pushed it and it performed better than I though. so far I was happy, Then we went on a an empty high way with some traffic lights and no cars. I could say that the distance between the traffic lights is slightly less than a quarter mile. From a dig I floored it and the thing took off like a rocket for what I expected. I was able to hit 100 mph and come back to full stop before we get to the second light. I went back to the dealer and then I went home a told the wife That she needs to test drive one of these. She did and a few weeks later we found the one we wanted. She loves the car and I dig it too. fuel economy is not bad either. so far we put about 500 miles on it and we have seen bet 24mpg and 30 mpg depending on the driving pattern/ style. The SAAB 9-4x Aero and the Volvo Xc6r were ahead of the kia but the price and the warranty represented a good package that is hard to ignore.

I don't think you can go wrong with either wheel option. Double 6-spokes look sporty, but the 10 spokes look classier. I can't believe how nice of a product these KIA's have become. Nice ride!
