2.3i, meet Enem 264 Cams...
So with the 264 9.6 cams temporarily out of of my Viggen curiosity got the better of me and I threw them in the NA project car. With the big port CNCd T7 head, large runner intake etc and every tenth wrung out of it on the dyno I wasn't sure what it would do.
Guessed the initial timing and ended up pretty close so we only had to play with the cams about 10 times. GenuineSaab.com Gallery :: 23i From the previous best or close enough.. ![]() Before, this was after the basic bolt ons.. Check out the run numbers. We wore the thing out on the dyno. ![]() One part of me wants to leave it as is. Another wants to throw it in the drag car with the 62mm precision and see what it will hold. The turbo motors NA only make about 110whp.

Have you tried phasing the cams together for a bit more overlap to try to pull up the top end a bit?

Looks like you could probably take a little fuel out up top

I didn't extend the VE up there yet. Need to move some rows around.. In the middle around 4500 the resonances really mess with the AF. My timing table goes to 7500 and accommodates that burn rate change. Its in the middle of best torque AF so its not giving up any. Plus on a 30s or longer 4th gear pull it will touch knock after a while. With it there it won't ever knock.

LEt it idle and warmup in the free time today made a couple more passes.
Repeated previous best after 2 runs. Gearbox was a bit cool first pull. oil was 190 to start. Filter off, Lost power from 5k up. about 8whp. Scratch that idea, Ill leave the dirty junk on it. Open exh after the flexpipe, Deleting the Viggen rear muffler and center muffler common to all. Down about 10 whp from 4k up. Rip the flex pipe off, Open at the header. Down only about 4whp but still down.. Time for larger header and more compression. The header I can throw together for cheap. Compressions going to wait since it will be too costly for pistons. Ohlins, Rest assured the cams have been all over the place in increments small and large.
