Firesale Acquisition - red 9-3 convertible

The ongoing Saab liquidation sale was just too tempting -- I pulled the trigger on a brand new (17 miles!) red '11 9-3 convertible this morning.

Firesale price $27,500, plus $2k for zero deductible 4 year/60k aftermarket warranty. That's still $15k off sticker.

This will be the wife's summer car. She's always wanted a red convertible, and now they're 1/3rd off.

The car is located in Concord, New Hampshire. I'm going to fly into Boston and drive it home. Can anyone give me a ride from Logan to Concord this weekend?

Zero deductible, all mechanical and electrical, not as comprehensive on trim or other cosmetic stuff. I'm OK with it. It's Ally, formerly GMAC, and the Saab dealer folks I talked to said they were OK to deal with.

The car has the "comfort package" -- heated seats, OnStar/Bluetooth, but no nav.

What time you landing in Boston?

I am in Boston every Saturday and could be convinced to drive a bit north on my way back home.

I haven't bought the ticket yet, I'll let you know.

I might also come in on Friday night instead of Saturday.

It's on a dealer by dealer basis. People will occasionally post on the Turbo! list when their local dealers have decided to blow them out, and I happened to check in on this dealer's website at the right time.

It's the eastern dealers that seem to be dealing more than anyone.

A number of the dealers will deal privately but are not posting the blow out prices on their websites. You need to call and make an offer. For example, Saab of North Olmstead in Ohio is in the midst of a blow out (or so I've been told) but the prices aren't up on the website. Make them an offer of 2/3rd MSRP and I'd give you better than 50-50 they take it.

I know some people are waiting for half of MSRP, which I don't think will happen, or by the time it happens it'll be the cars with no options or oddball colors that aren't very desirable.

I think they have a busing route that will get your there or you can just fly into Manchester/Concord
and save yourself the trouble of a ride. The dealership would pick you up probably if you flew into Man.

I thought I saw a dealer out here that stated in a memo that they were doing 50% of MSRP.

(I do not need a new car, I do not need a new car, I do not need a new car...)

If you end up flying into Manchester I'd be willing to pick you up, depending on the time of the day. There is a bus from Boston to Concord. $16 and about an hour and a half. I'm not on here much, but I think I have PM notifications up.

If you've already left good luck on your trip.

ETA: After checking Facebook you look to have made it.

I just joined the forum today because I bought a 2011 9-3 2.0t XWD at the 1/3rd off prices. I live outside Boston, and there are a lot of dealers posting ads about the firesale now.

This is actually my 3rd Saab. I bought my first one (and first car) from my Dad when I turned 18. I was a 1982 900.

Had another one after college, but it was a high mileage money pit. That one barely counts in my mind because I had it less than a year.

We (my wife and I) are very excited to pick it up on 2/4.

Back home, safe and sound. It's now a new car with 1,490 miles! It drove like a dream coming back home. I've driven cars back home cross country before, but never a new one. It was a bit odd driving through Chicago and not worrying that the car would break down.

Awesome! I may be going to look at a 2011 myself soon... really shouldn't but at these prices it's hard to resist! Love the laser red!

My dealership just sold a vert for $26,500 Carbon Grey with a silver top - looked really nice too.
