Yep Another Project 91 9000

Just brought home another project this morning. This time its a platana grey 91. It has a carlson kit, td04, super aeros, aero interior, 93 aero trans, and a 94+ steering wheel.
Ive gone halfway with bergie on a 91 running parts car where Ill be getting an engine from. The engine will have all its seals replaced, new timing and balance gear, and lower bearings before bein dropped in. Once the car is running we'll convert it over to t5

Oh yea it was free too

This is definitely a project I'm going to keep my eyes on, can't wait to see more progress. It's definitely going to be a unique 91'.

Beautiful! Gotta love the glove box and the arm rest. Can't go wrong with the plantana grey either.
Very nice.

no you can't. once you t5 you can.

but i'll be honest with you steve. convert back to the 91 trans. the 93 trans with regular aero gearing bores the shit out of me. 91 trans eats a litttle more gas but loves to pull on everything.

With the amount of highway driving I do I actually prefer the longer gears. Ill be hanging onto the 91 trans though for sure

very little. only place i would take some extra time on is behind the front bumper on the rad support. it wasn't bad but i'd touch it up so it isnt ever an issue. also two small bubbles near windshield. windshield is freckled with rock nicks so when windshield gets replaced i'd grind the metal and repaint that too...

Nice. The '91 9000 Aero that Saab never built!

Who spent all of the time on the upgrades?

I'm not crazy about the wood dash and console, but really like the steering wheel upgrade - no more broken horn buttons!

wait i thought i was getting this 91 trans from you james, steve if you have a plethora of transmissions i'd like to hang onto the NA gear box in the parts car.

i need a backup gear box with the power my car will be putting down soon.

i told steve that he could sell you the trans. doesnt seem like he wants it anyways. and believe me i dont think you want to run a na trans. car would be meant for ripping through gears but it would be horrible on the highway.

in regards to the wood dash it looked better than the cheap black plastic or the pine wood that was originally in the 91.
