wtf 9000 radio wiring - HELP

So I went to swap out the stock Clarion radio/cassett and Equalizer/CD play out of the Aero with my Pionner h/u.

I pulled the radio to find two saab connectors, the square ones. and 4 DIN connectors. 2 from radio to cdplayer, one to amp and one to cdchager(n/a).

I used the wiring diagram found here http://genuinesaab.com/psi/files/9k-93-radio.pdf. From what I can tell, I can only tap into the front speakers from these two square connectors. And if I wanted to connector to the rear, I'd have to get under the front seat to the amp and connect to the output of the amp to get to the rear speakers.

Is this correct? Please tell me its more simple then this, I dont want to have to rip out a seat for a simple headunit install.

I used the correct SAAB adapter from Crutchfield for the majority of power and front speakers hookup but did have to tap into the rear speakers the way you're indicating.

I left all the stock stuff, but I just ran all new speaker wiring under the carpet and through the dash. More work, but simpler in the end.

That actually does not help at all.

Because that say something different then what I had previously though. If thats from a 1993 9000 CSE/Aero fine, but other words I feel as if the 1993 radio system was a one year thing.

Not sure if this helps... In my 97 with the HK, I ended up running new lines to all speakers until I set it up with a 5 channel amp.
Reason being is the HK (idk about the clarion) speaker output isn't amped so when you hook an aftermarket, it ends up putting power into the stock amp. It makes it so you can only turn up the aftermarket a couple clicks or blow the speakers.
It's really not that bad to run new lines though and if you want to remove the amp or splice it, I could reach it and remove it by moving the seats back and forth with tilt.

This is what i wanted to hear.

Is the connector for the output to the rears towards the front or rear of the seat on the amp?

Thanks!

On the HK, it's just a harness that clips into the amp on the left side looking at the dash...
There's a cover/heatshield? that covers the amp and plug.

If you want to splice it, you'd have to find which wires are input and output. There's really not alot of room to maneuver the wires though. The whole reason I know you can get it out is that I was going to do the splice and then gave up on it after getting frustrated. lol

Anyone else have Very poor sound quality from the rear speakers? I have plenty of treble but absolutely no Bass at all! any suggestions?

I am running a Pioneer head unit with new wires to all 4 speakers. I have tried Polk 6x9s and alpine 6x9s both have no bass at all. Is this a mounting issue? I have never seen a car without some sort of wooden or cardboard ish material to resonate the sound....

^^ Subwoofers bro, idk I'm pretty big into stereo equipment in cars and I thought the factory speakers with the factory deck(CS without HK) where not terrible. Its not subwoofer bass but it was a decent amount for a 6x9. What headunit are you running? Factory, cheap ass aftermarket, or something with real RMS ratings? Are you using a amp on those Alpines? Makes a huge difference. I am currently switching over to a Pioneer MVH-P8300BT headunit, Soundstream Trantula Series four channel and Hertz High Energys all around. With KnuKonceptz wiring all around. I'd like to not add subs to this car for trunk space. Ill let you know how the Hertz sound.

If you're talking about the stock speakers, check that you have powere going to all the speakers with an ohm meter. Possible the connection to one of the speakers has popped off or they may be blown. If I remember correctly it's technically 6 speakers in the back: tweeter, mid range 5 1/4 and the 5x7 or 6x9?

first off, belive it or not the factory audio manual that came with the car when new has a pretty awesome schematic in the back of it,,,

the amp is located under the passengers seat. the connections for the rear speakers are there.

Oh sorry I didn't even see that you said you had installed a pioneer. Yeah, you don't have the bass turned up all the way on your head unit do you? Cause that will make the speakers sound like crap. My recommendations would be keep the Alpines, get a amp installed for all four speakers and get it tuned by your local audio shop. If that doesn't satisfy your craving for bass. Do two 10's in a ported box, idk what your budget is but Apline Type S's are okay but some Type R's with a MRP-M1000 amp. That there will give you windshield flex approved bass. An if you still are not happy you can come over to my house and sit in my '97 Aero. 4 15 inch Soundstream SPLX's in a wall right behind the drives and passenger seat running off 4 2600 watt amps. I'm pushing like 7500 clean wattage and I might blow your ear drums.
