Parts readily available for which years?

Hello all-

I'm looking to get a 9-5 and was wondering how new I could go without worying too much about getting parts down the road. I figure I'm safe up to 2005 but love the way the 2006 looks. Haven't found any info regarding the parts situation. If I missed it, pls point me in the right direction.

Thanks

in my opinion, the best years are 02-03. after 04 they made a lot of minor changes, that make the car feel cheaper.

I think they get shitty when the Door pulls turn into cheap plastic.....

We had an 08 9-5 Aero on the lot and I remember being pissed as soon as i grabbed that shitty door pull. I have no interest in Paying Audi Money for a VW, and with shit like that I'm not surprised the brand died!

I have an '07 and love it. I think that the ones that will have parts avail problems in the future will be the new body ones ('10-'11).

My headlights have seen better days. The whole cleaning, sanding, buffing thing bought me 2 years but they are fogging/yellowing badly. Found driver's side, but still waiting to hear about passenger side. If/when new ones go on, immediate clear bra on lights.

I fear this is a harbinger of things to come.

2004 is the best year... but I *may* be a bit biased (hah)
