So I took the 9-5 Aero into Marty's shop for a little deferred maintenance today.
1. Oil leak? Crank seal, fixed.
2. Air bag light on? Went off spontaneously when Tech II attached to read code. Replaced clock spring anyway.
3. Intermittent failure of blower fan? Blower fan replaced.
4. Subframe squeaks and rattles? Broken after-market subframe brace removed.
5. "Service Theft Alarm"? Tech II reprogrammed alarm system to Euro specs; alarm with dying battery bypassed.
6. New spark plugs. Gas mileage slightly better on return home.
7. Slight oil leakage around valve cover gasket? Gasket replaced.
8. Intermittent "Rear Light Failure"? Bulb replaced.
9. Bumper cover reattached to front of wheel wells.
All done very quickly. The car was quiet and tight as a drum on the way home.
Oh, and it was nice to get a look under the valve cover today. This is what a 9-5 motor looks like at 133,000 miles **with regular oil changes**:
