One of my fog light has a short and keeps going off. I was just wondering if anyone has ever replaced the wiring. I went to the dealership to try to find the wiring leading to the fog light but they could not find it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
On my 99 9-5, there is a single strand of wires that goes down the left side of the car ( from the drivers perspective). It goes to the first foglight then some remaining wires continue on the bumper.
About in the center of the bumper there is a outside temp sensor.
The last remaining wires from the strand go to the right side foglight.
The wires are fairly low to the ground not protected by much apart from the lip of the bumper. They are ziptied into place but if the ziptie is lost then the cable could sag into the moving airflow & be exposed to stone chips etc.
that is where I would start looking for frayed wires.
It wouldn't be too difficult to slice into the wire & bypass a bad section.
Thanks. Yeah I know where the short is. I think I would probably have to get the connector and see how it goes from there.
