I just took posession of a 2005 9-5 Aero that is not equipped with Onstar or the Tel1 or Tel2 packages. How do I install the Parrot Bluetooth hands free car kit I had installed in my 2004 9-5 Aero? Just to be clear, there is no mic in the overhead console, and no connector wrapped in tape behind the ACC unit. Can this connector be added?
I have all that. See that plug in the picture? It plugs into a connector that is part of the Onstar/Tel1 package, which my car does not have. I need to figure out how to connect the blutooth kit without the connector already being in place.
If your car were in fact not equipped with TEL1 prep, the AudioTroll harness can be modified to provide the audio mute lead, speaker leads and power leads to run the parrot. You would have to run the microphone seperately, but given the funky impedance of the factory mic, that's probably the best way to go.
Thanks Carl. Don't know why I didn't think of just a direct connect. Tapping into Audiotroll harness should be OK then? It is somewhat less permanent than splicing into the Saab harness. (Even though I will definitely always have Audiotroll in my Saab) I do plan to use the Parrot mic.
Yep, I can provide a listing of what wires need to be cut/spliced on the AT harness for this adventure.
On the male plug, looking at the pins (the one without the wire trunk going to the AudioTroll)...
1: Tel audio ground (Green/White)
2: Tel audio signal (Yellow/Black)
3: Tel mute (Purple)
4: +30 circuit, 12v constant (Black)
5: +15 circuit, 12v switched (Grey)
6: Ground (White)

BTW Carl, what would happen if I moved power for AT from pin 8 to pin 2? I'd like my AT to shut down with the car. I'd just lose the place in the song, right? Thanks.
OK. So, I've read and read and read through forums and manuals, but I am still very confused about connecting a Saab Bluetooth Kit (#32025907).
I now realize that I probably should never have bought the unit to begin with, but I have it and cannot return it, so I'd like to use it.
My situation is that I have an '05 9-5 without Onstar. After reading through a multitude of posts, I came to the conclusion that I needed the Tel 1 adapter (#12801584) and everything would be OK. Well, the first few saab mechanics that I took it to wouldn't even touch it. Finally, I got a dealer to work on it and they told me that they can't install it because it doesn't have the correct connections (that an onstar-equiped vehicle would have?).
So is it true that I cannot put the kit in my car? This is all very frustrating.
Swap it with a real aftermarket headunit nothing to save there
