I saw that, but I also saw there was a fluid for 79-01 and another for 02-present
I think it said something like 'DexronIII compatible NON-synth'
I might just have the Valvoline Instant Oil Change place do it.
Does anyone know the fluid capacity or installation service? is it a 100% drain system or is it a rinse/wash/fill where you blow like 10qts just flushing the thing?
I don't know about the capacities . But I do know this, you may not want to take it to a Valvoline place to get it done. I almost never hear any good stories from places like that.
The manual that came with the car should have all that info.
get dexron-III from the parts store for ~3.50 a quart. That is the required fluid for the four speed auto's. if you drain the trans while the car is level, you'll get a little more than 3 quarts out.
2001 can take Full Synthetic too - it came with non, but Saab says it's ok to run full synthetic.
