yea 5k is pretty low. i was looking at a base 9-5 with the rk wheels and i love the wheels on the car but it wasnt an aero. and the automatic would be better for me anyways i dont really have fun driving a 5 spd.
The OP car is not a terrible deal. And remember, stock for stock, the automatic is a better transmission.
Maybe not more fun, but usually more durable at near stock power levels. Once main reason, a lot of really abuse manual transmissions. Its hard to know if the previous owner of a car would do stuff like pulling the car out of gear without the clutch in, or putting it in gear without the clutch in for that matter too.
If you rev match and give it the slightest hint of a pull on the shifter it comes out of gear without hesitation... no clutch needed. I've done this on my NG for years. I'm scared to ask why its bad... and doubt I could break the habit anyways...
well, if you can rev match perfectly you should be OK. All it does is wear out the shift forks if there is still load on the internals when you pull it out of gear.
alright well im going to go test drive it/look at it and my car is sold as of sunday afternoon so monday hopefully i will be purchasing this car if the dealer will do financing for me around 200 a month. for an 18 year old lol
well i bought it. he is giving me a payment that is 159 a month. i got the car for 5300 i cant wait to get it! hes getting the front lip painted for me and a dent fixed on the roof and then ill get it on friday hopefully!
Sorry, I had a migraine early and was generally bummed. Glad to hear of the fantastic buy you made, you've got a car that's still competitive with new STi's.
Good buy, for sure. Enjoy it, Aero's are awesome when everything is working right.
Makes me sad that my '00 with 115K is worth so little now (resale value of Saabs is a little higher in the NE than in the MW I imagine, NADA value of the car is about $7K)
yea i need to do the pcv update and do the headbolts so it will stop leaking oil. as well as fixing the power steering leak someplace. and flushing the tranny and flushing the radiator and doing all the motor mounts and tranny mount and that should be it.
oh and the wheel bearings up front. ones making noise so i might as well do both. AND doing brakes on all 4 corners
