So I've been encountering some issues with my 04 9-5 since Friday last week. I was driving home on the highway at around 70-75mph and all of the sudden the car bucked. At first I thought I could have run over something, so I pulled over, looked over the vehicle and since I didn't see any issues, I drove home.
The next day I took the car to the car wash and stopped over at AZ to pick up some oil and a filter. Before I got out and took the key out, the car once again bucked, at first I thought maybe the clutch pedal got stuck in the carpet, since I was just at the car wash and the carpet was not in the right place, but when I returned the car would not start up. I couldn't figure out what the issue was, there was plenty of juice from the battery and the started was cranking except the motor wouldn't turn over. Very strange I thought, then after a few tries it started.
Drove home with no issues until yesterday when I was driving home from work, the car bucked again, I pulled over to get gas, cause I thought maybe I had gotten bad gas. Now keep in mind I only put in premium and usually from namebrand stations. So I get the gas and when I go to start up, again will not start. I called 24hr service, they were in the process of sending a tow truck but the car started up, this time the check engine light came on.
This morning I took it to the dealer and they told me the code they got was for a faulty crankshaft position sensor. Has anyone have this happen and were the symtoms similar. Sounded strange to me, and only time will tell if that was the real issue.
