The guy that I bought it from said it had a bad head gasket. It actually had a bad heater core. Lol. I've already replaced core and blower motor... Water pump is just starting to leak, so Im gonna replace it and the rest of the cooling system for good measure: heater hoses, radiator hoses, thermostat, different thermoswitch, expansion tank cap. I bought some suede and I'm going to try to re-cover the door panels. I'm still not sure what will happen to this car... I never cared for CDs before but it's really growing on me! This is now a build thread.
Since I was unable to find a replacement blue seat, I decided to try to refurbish them. I collected a lot of product and did a lot of experimenting. I ended up using Leatherique Rejuvenating Oil and Pristine Clean. SEM Leather/Vinyl Prep. SEM Leather/Vinyl Filler, Leatherique Crack Filler. Local Auto Paint shop matched the color of the leather and put it in an aerosol can. I cut the "Bridge of Weir" tag off of the headrest to use as a sample. The paint matched the sample perfectly... however, the seats were a little bit lighter/faded. Lesson learned! So far, so good. If I had to do it over, it would take 1/4 of the time. And the results would be a lot better. But, i'm happy with the improvement. Before ![]() ![]() ![]() After ![]() ![]() ![]() I'm not happy with the gloss, so I'm gonna hit the seat with SEM Texture and then re-paint. The passenger seat will also get a coat, but doesn't need any repair.

My carpet cleaner broke when I was using it, so I kludged together a DIY extractor. I cut the clear nozzle/wand end off of the broken carpet cleaner and duct taped it to the shop vac hose. I then run hot water into a pump sprayer like you would use in a garden.
Fleet Farm didn't have Simple Green, so I tried Jungle Jake. It's not a good carpet cleaner... I need to find some real carpet cleaner juice, I guess. ![]() ![]()

Just sprayed passenger seat.
Sat down at computer to order a respirator... really shouldn't have painted without one.

A couple shots of the bolster after I sprayed with SEM texture and re-sprayed the color coat.

I had planned to use SEM Classic Coat 17193 "GM Navy" but it was out of stock (and discontinued by SEM, apparently) at the supplier I originally ordered from (R&E).
I went to the local automotive paint supply with the tag from the headrest and asked them to match it. It's a DuPont product in an aerosol can @ $19/can.
