2000 viggen cv joint removal questions

Alright whats the trick with these stupid things? Kaylan no longer wants her own viggen.

Basically it doesnt slide out like the 9k ones do. How do you pull it out on the drivers inner side at the trans? Help! TIA.

iirc just use a prybar or large screwdriver and give it a healthy wack and it'll pop right out...

Yup, thats exactly right. Use a medium sized prybar and just keep applying pressure slowly between the back of the inner driver and the diff housing till it pops right out (the entire inner driver comes out of the diff housing).

kind of like the shaft from the tranny did?

IDK what the hell is going on but I just want the trans and engine on my floor already.

It wont come out of the shaft. Its like cone shaped and its too small for those bearings to come out. Am I missing something here?????

All that holds the inner driver shaft into the splines inside the diff is a circlip unlike the 9000 with the retaining spring. All you have to do is apply enough leverage to get the entire assembly to pop out past where the circlip holds and it'll come out into your hand. If I had a picture from when I did mine I'd show you but I don't. Sorry.

Because you pulled the driveshaft out of the diff... they said that would happen in health class.

Just off the phone with her. My guess is that since they have the car up on jack stands in the front and the rear on the tires still that the gearbox oil just drained into the diff housing and was sitting high enough to come out the inner driver location once it was removed.

Thats my guess since when I did mine I lost no gear box oil as my car was on a lift and perfectly level.
