Coolant Temp Sensor size

Long story short; my sensor broke off in the head.
Luckily, the Holset doesn't use coolant, so I'm hoping to move the sensor to the other port, just above it, but the other is larger, so I'm trying to find an adapter. The head is m12 or m14, but the sensor appears to be npt or bpt.

I'm just hoping someone knows, or can check the temp sensor for me, so I can buy the correct metric-to-pipe adapter.

Thanks!

You're right that it's some sort of coarse taper thread, I'd check for you but I don't have any way to tell what it is after I have it in my hand.

Why not something like one of these: Sears.com

and just drill it out? The outer case and threads, etc. are some type of brass/yellow metal so it should be soft. If an easy-out doesn't work, some sharp needle nose after you drill it shouldn't be too crazy. Then you don't have a make-shift setup

It's in there, and in there, good. Flush and sealed. I figure I can buy the adapter and have it fixed easy vs potentially having to pull the head and visit a machine shop. If it doesn't come out easily. It's the same water pocket and the temp sensor is like 1.5" long, so it'll still be right in the water.

If it leaks or reads weird I'll send this spare head to the machine shop to be opened up and refreshed.
